Walk with old maps exploring the district re-named in the 1830’s after a short-lived statue as an early form of regeneration. How this happened may surprise you as well as the plan to build a pleasure garden. The remarkable person behind these schemes remains largely un-sung. As well as the finest railway station in London we find the smallest crescent and down an almost hidden alley we encounter a hidden world of lost industry.
