Walk with old maps exploring the area around Bermondsey Street. Amongst the warehouses we find 17th century houses and a Victorian smithy. There are clues and fragments as to the leather-making that once dominated the neighbourhood. We celebrate the work of Ada Salter’s Beautification Committee, in particular what was done with the Work House site. Our walk ends by the building that was originally part of the gate house to Bermondsey Abbey
